Rose Quartz is a beloved pink variety of Quartz (SiO₂), known for its soft, nurturing energy and gentle pastel tones that range from translucent blush to rich rose. Its colouring is typically caused by microscopic inclusions of dumortierite or titanium, which give it its iconic hue. While most Rose Quartz appears cloudy or milky due to internal structures, rarer gem-quality pieces can be transparent and even form six-rayed star patterns (called asterism) when polished.

With a Mohs hardness of 7, Rose Quartz is both durable and gentle—suitable for jewellery, crystal carvings, energy tools, and altar pieces. It often forms in massive chunks rather than crystal points, although rare crystalline Rose Quartz does occur.

Major deposits of Rose Quartz are found in Brazil, Madagascar, South Africa, India, and the United States, particularly South Dakota. Brazilian and Madagascan Rose Quartz are especially sought after for their soft glow and consistent colour.
