About Labradorite
Labradorite is a mesmerising feldspar mineral from the plagioclase series, composed primarily of sodium, calcium, aluminium, and silicate (NaAlSi₃O₈ – CaAl₂Si₂O₈). Its most striking feature is a phenomenon known as labradorescence — an optical effect that produces vivid flashes of colour, typically blue, green, gold, copper, and sometimes violet, red, or orange. This iridescence occurs due to light interference between layers of twinned crystal structures.
Though it may appear grey or dark from certain angles, when rotated under light, Labradorite comes alive with spectral colours — often likened to the Aurora Borealis or shimmering dragonfly wings. It has a Mohs hardness of 6–6.5 and a pearly to vitreous lustre, making it relatively durable but best handled with care to avoid scratches or chips.
Labradorite was first discovered in 1770 on the Isle of Paul in Labrador, Canada, where it gets its name. Today, significant deposits are also found in Finland (where a variety called Spectrolite displays particularly vivid labradorescence), Madagascar, Russia, Ukraine, Mexico, India, Australia, and the USA.

Healing with Labradorite
♥ Intuition ♥ Transformation ♥ Protection ♥ Magic ♥ Spiritual Awakening ♥ Insight ♥ Cosmic Consciousness ♥ Inner Power ♥ Mysticism ♥ Strength Through Change
Labradorite is the stone of mysticism and transformation, revered for its ability to awaken psychic abilities, shield the aura, and enhance spiritual insight. It is often called the Stone of Magic, used by shamans, energy workers, and spiritual seekers to connect with unseen realms and higher consciousness.
It resonates most strongly with the Third Eye and Crown Chakras, helping to expand awareness, heighten intuition, and strengthen one’s connection to inner guidance and the divine. Labradorite is a powerful companion for shadow work, dreamwork, and soul retrieval practices — illuminating the truth beneath illusion and unlocking deep-seated wisdom.
Emotionally, Labradorite promotes resilience and inner strength. It is especially helpful during times of upheaval, change, or spiritual awakening, as it provides calm grounding energy while supporting personal evolution. This crystal empowers one to break free from old fears, patterns, and limiting beliefs — replacing them with trust in one’s own intuition and soul path.
As a highly protective stone, it creates a shimmering energetic barrier that deflects negativity, envy, psychic attack, and energy leakage. It’s ideal for empaths, sensitives, and those working in healing or service roles, offering energetic boundaries while keeping the heart and intuition open.
Labradorite is also known for sparking inspiration, creativity, and innovation. It’s beloved by artists, writers, and visionaries who wish to tap into the muse, explore new ideas, and manifest their dreams with clarity and purpose.
In crystal healing, Labradorite is believed to support brain health, neurological function, and mental clarity. It may assist with focus, memory, and cognitive integration — making it a favourite among students and creatives. It’s often used to soothe symptoms of anxiety, stress, and sensory overwhelm, helping the nervous system reset after periods of burnout.
Labradorite is also associated with the eyes, metabolism, and hormonal regulation, and is thought to support the body during major energetic upgrades or healing transitions. Some practitioners place Labradorite on the pineal gland to activate intuition or use it to support healthy sleep cycles and dream recall.
Energetically, it is believed to help align the aura and clear subtle energy blockages, especially those linked to old traumas or psychic imprints.
