About Serpentine
Serpentine is a group of magnesium silicate minerals known for their distinctive green hues, often mottled, veined, or marbled in appearance. The name "Serpentine" comes from the Latin serpens, meaning snake, due to its scaly, serpent-like appearance. It ranges from creamy pale green to dark olive, and sometimes even golden or brownish-green tones. While not a single mineral but a group, common forms include antigorite, lizardite, and chrysotile.
With a hardness of 2.5 to 5.5 on the Mohs scale, Serpentine is relatively soft and often polished into tumbled stones, carvings, or jewellery. Its most well-known sources include Italy, China, India, New Zealand, South Africa, the USA, and Australia—where it is occasionally found intermingled with Stichtite, forming the crystal known as Atlantisite.

Healing with Serpentine
♥ Kundalini Awakening ♥ Detoxification ♥ Heart-Centred Grounding ♥ Past Life Healing ♥ Emotional Cleansing ♥ Earth Connection
Serpentine is a deeply earthy, regenerative crystal that promotes cleansing, grounding, and spiritual awakening. It is particularly associated with activating and supporting the Kundalini energy—the life force energy said to reside at the base of the spine. This makes Serpentine a powerful ally for energy workers and those embarking on deep spiritual work or personal transformation.
Emotionally, Serpentine has a stabilising and purifying effect, gently releasing fear, resentment, and emotional blockages. It supports the Heart Chakra, encouraging compassion, self-love, and emotional renewal. It’s an excellent stone for exploring and healing past life patterns, especially those linked to deep-rooted emotional pain or karmic imprints.
Energetic & Manifestation Properties
Energetically, Serpentine connects you with the wisdom of nature, the ancient Earth, and your own primal healing intelligence. It helps open energy channels in the body, making it ideal for Reiki, chakra balancing, or grounding after spiritual work. This crystal is often used to assist in awakening the Kundalini, gently uncoiling stagnant energy and encouraging alignment from root to crown.
As a manifestation tool, Serpentine helps clear energetic clutter and emotional debris, making way for clarity and intention. It brings patience and focus, helping the user maintain grounded momentum when working toward long-term transformation or healing goals. In crystal grids, it can be used to stabilise energy, protect sacred space, or amplify the flow of life force energy.
Physical Healing Properties
Physically, Serpentine is known as a cleansing and detoxifying stone, often associated with the stomach, colon, and reproductive system. It may support detoxification on a cellular level and encourage the elimination of built-up toxins and sluggish energy in the body. Some crystal healers use it to assist with issues related to the heart, lungs, or muscle tension, particularly where stress or energetic blockage is a contributing factor.
Serpentine’s connection to the nervous system and chakra alignment makes it a favourite for practitioners seeking to balance hormonal shifts, promote energetic vitality, or ease the physical symptoms of emotional strain. When used in massage or body layouts, Serpentine may help release built-up emotional trauma stored in the physical tissues.
