This mineral is primarily mined in Italy, United States (especially Missouri and New York), Mexico, and Brazil. It rates around 3.5 to 4 on the Mohs hardness scale, making it moderately soft and suitable mostly for collectors and metaphysical use rather than heavy jewellery.
