About Ammonite Fossils
Ammonite fossils are the mineralised remains of extinct marine molluscs that thrived in the oceans between 240 and 65 million years ago. Their coiled, chambered shells are instantly recognisable, often displaying intricate ribbed patterns and, in some specimens, stunning iridescence known as ammolite. The spiral design reflects the principles of sacred geometry, symbolising infinity, cycles, and evolution.
Ammonites are primarily found in Madagascar, Canada, England, Morocco, and parts of Europe, with some of the most vividly coloured specimens sourced from Alberta, Canada. Their composition varies depending on mineralisation, but common inclusions are aragonite, calcite, pyrite, and silica. Ammonites are relatively durable, ranking around 4–5 on the Mohs scale, though care is needed as fossilised material can be brittle.

In Feng Shui, ammonites are considered powerful attractors of prosperity and good fortune, making them excellent for manifestation and abundance work.
Energetic & Manifestation Properties
Ammonites are thought to bridge the gap between the physical and spiritual realms, grounding high vibrational energies into the body. Their coiled design channels energy smoothly, amplifying intention-setting, meditation, and manifestation practices.
They are also associated with cycles of rebirth, making them powerful allies during times of transition. By harmonising past, present, and future, ammonites encourage you to integrate lessons learned while stepping into new chapters with courage and clarity.

Ammonites are believed to support physical vitality and stamina, assisting with blood flow, energy regulation, and cellular regeneration. Their grounding vibration can reduce stress, ease anxiety, and bring emotional balance, while their spiral geometry supports the release of trauma stored in the energetic body.
On a spiritual level, ammonites are powerful guides for connecting with ancient wisdom, past lives, and ancestral energy. They can deepen meditation, enhance intuition, and provide insight into personal transformation.
Historical & Cultural Notes
Ammonites take their name from the Egyptian god Ammon, often depicted with ram’s horns resembling their coiled shells. Throughout history, they have been regarded as sacred symbols of protection, good luck, and divine connection. In medieval Europe, ammonites were called “snakestones” and thought to hold healing and magical powers.
In Indigenous cultures, ammonites have been revered as sacred objects of power and wisdom, sometimes considered gifts from the ancestors or the Earth itself. Today, they remain popular not only for their striking beauty but also for their profound energetic resonance.
Ammonite fossils are timeless guardians of Earth’s history and powerful allies for transformation, grounding, and abundance. Whether displayed as a striking piece of natural art, carried as a talisman, or used in spiritual practice, they remind us that life is a spiral of constant growth, renewal, and infinite possibility.
