Nephrolepis exaltata, known as the sword fern or Boston fern, is a species of fern in the family Lomariopsidaceae native to tropical regions throughout the world. This evergreen plant can reach as high as 40–90 centimetres, and in extreme cases up to 1.5 metres.
Size: When full grown, fronds alone can grow to over 1m long.
Lighting: Grow the Boston Fern in a shaded or partially shaded (morning and afternoon sun) spot. While it’s not a delicate fern it does like some protection from strong drying winds.
Watering: The Boston Fern likes moist but not wet soil, so you will need to adjust watering according to the seasons (daily in summer and less in winter).
Pot size: 130mm
